My name is Tenille, I have been developing in SharePoint since 2006. I currently work with SharePoint 2010, SharePoint online and Office 365. SharePoint 2013 and MOSS 2007 implementations. My expertise lie in custom SharePoint architecture and development, Information and Data Architecture, SharePoint Solution Design and Implementation, SharePoint Project Management, offshore development team management, SaaS and PaaS, Cloud implementations of SharePoint, Bid management, presales, technical and business workshops, and POCs, End user training, support, basically I have covered every stage of the SharePoint software development cycle and mastered it!
I weirdly enjoy integrating SharePoint solutions with Infopath and Office components, as well as branding: Custom Master Pages; Page Layouts; CSS; site Definitions etc. Workflows, custom webparts, features and integration of BCS and Performance Point as well as full scale custom Intranets and Extranets. I tend to prefer SharePoint Designer solutions where possible over Visual Studio development. My tools of the trade include CKSDev and WSPBuilder, SharePoint Designer, VS2010, VS2012 and my old buddy Google. I am slowly becoming a Powershell guru since I have overcome my fear of single line commands! Since the inception of cloud computing I have been more involved in MSO implementations and deliverance of SaaS solutions. I am proficient in Azure SDK development but since the direction my career has taken is more to a Solution/Enterprise architect, I am less involved in core development and more in Information Design and Architecture and Project Management at a strategic and technical level, so I leave the hard stuff up to my team of developers to tackle.
In my career I have been a Support Developer, Analyst Programmer, SharePoint Developer, Technical Lead, SharePoint Consultant, Project Manager, and more recently I am fulfilling Solutions Architect and Enterprise Architect roles. My education started with a BSc Software Engineering. I am Microsoft qualified, MCITP, MCTS and MCPD for SharePoint 2007 and 2010. I have foundation and practitioner certificates in PRINCE2 and Agile Project Management methodologies. To add to my repertoire, I have a BCS foundation and practitioner certificates in Solution and Enterprise Architecture and in December achieved my TOGAF practitioner certificate. I am also currently engaged in a Masters degree in Applied Project Management with Newcastle Business School, top 11 business school in Europe. I’ve done all these things and still have no clue exactly what I want to be when I grow up. There is a long list and this changes from week to week, inspired by whatever I am reading to exacerbate my vivid and energetic imagination.
I’m a dedicated single mum/ queen to a 4 year old prince, I love diving, family, music, globe trotting round the world, dancing, baking, and of course SharePoint. My roots lie in the beautiful African plains and I currently reside in the UK. Hope you enjoy my blog as its a record of my journey through the magestic, and yet frustrating at times, experience of SharePoint.
